.DISCUSSION...

High pressure builds over the Great Basin today and tomorrow,
continuing to raise temperatures and keep winds light. Our warmest
day of the week will be tomorrow, with highs in the upper 70s and
lower 80s for W NV valleys and upper 60s and lower 70s for Sierra
Communities. Widespread Minor HeatRisk for W NV valleys and lower
Sierra valleys both Thursday and Friday. The forecasted high for
Reno is 81, with a 35% to exceed the record of 83.

Light showers return for NE CA, north of the Tahoe Basin, and
along the OR border Friday as a low pressure system moves by to
our north. Little to no accumulations are expected with this brief
system. However, this will bring a weekend cooldown with
temperatures returning to near normal across the area.

Spring-time lovers rejoice! High pressure returns early next
week, bringing warmer temperatures, light winds, dry conditions,
and sunny skies. -Giralte

&&

.AVIATION...

VFR conditions through the rest of this week with the lightest
winds occurring today. Afternoon breezes return Thursday with
gusts capping out at 20-25 kts across all terminals. Winds
increase Friday and Saturday due to a weak weather system passing
by to our north.

High temperatures approach record levels Thursday and Friday for W
NV valleys, bringing abnormally high density altitudes for early
April. -Giralte/Justin
